Fees & Rates

The annual fee for a Hang Seng credit card is HKD6 000, then HKD1 000 for each supplementary card. For retail purchases, you will be charged 2.62% per month or 34.97% per year. 

The interest rate for cash advances is also 2.62% per month, but you will end up paying 38.37% per year. The annual fee that is charged depends on the credit card you hold, as Hang Seng offers a variety of credit card options and plans. 

For their Visa Infinite Card / World Mastercard, you will be charged HKD6 000 per year, and HKD1 000 for each supplementary card. Hang Seng Platinum Cardholders will be charged HKD1 500 per year, and HKD750 for supplementary cards. 

Gold Cardholders will be charged HKD600 per year, and HKD300 for every supplementary card. For the Classic Card, the principal amount is HKD300 a year, with supplementary cards costing HKD150 a year. 

How To Apply

The online application process for a Hang Seng credit card is a simple one. To start, navigate to the Online Applications tab on their website, found in the ‘Cards’ page. Then, select your choice of card from the ‘Hang Seng Credit Card’ section on this page. 

Once you have selected a card, you will be prompted to select a Welcome Gift, which is a complimentary gift from Hang Seng for applying for one of their cards. Of course, you will need to make sure that you meet the eligibility requirements for taking out a credit card. 

You will also be required to fulfill the relevant terms and conditions before you are able to receive your welcome gift, if at all. Each credit card has a relevant web page that provides more information. 

Next, you will be prompted to enter your basic personal details, much like you would when applying for any other bank card.
