Benefits of UOB Credit Cards

UOB does not only offer a credit card for any need you may have, but they also provide up to S$230 for free. For choosing UOB ONE Card, you benefit from S$150 cash credit and S$80 cash credit.

You receive a 1% rebate on your utility bill when you qualify for the quarterly cash rebate. In order to be eligible for the cash rebate, which can be $50, S$100, or S$300 per quarter, you need to spend a minimum of S$500, S$1,000, or S$2,000 per month in a minimum of five purchases. If you maintain this spending level for three months (a quarter), you automatically qualify for the cash rebate, according to which level you reached. 

More specifically, if you spend the minimum S$500 in at least purchases before your statement date, you can earn up to S$67 for free at the end of the quarter. 

If you are looking for a great way of keeping your savings, UOB One Account can be of great help. After your first S$15,000, you will automatically receive a 1.5% interest per annum, as long as you spend a minimum of S$500 from your UOB One Card. The interest can reach up to 3.88% per annum. This is provided that you have a minimum spending of S$500 for your card, and you credit your salary or, alternatively, perform 3 GIRO transactions.  

Fees and Rates

The annual interest rates are calculated at 26.9% with an annual principal fee of S$192.60, but you benefit from a first-year card fee waiver. However, this drops down to S$96.30 for subsequent cards. What is more, if you spend a minimum of S$12,000, you benefit from an automatic waiver of the annual fee. 

The minimum monthly repayment is 1% or S$50, depending on which one is higher in your situation. You also have 25 days of the interest-free period. 

How to Apply

To apply, you need to make sure you are eligible. It is required to have a minimum Singaporean income of S$30,000. And you need to be either a Singapore citizen or a permanent resident. If your income is lower than that, you need a minimum fixed deposit collateral of S$10,000. Also, keep in mind that only individuals that are minimum 21 years old can apply for UOB credit card.  

If you complete your application here, it can be approved instantly if it is completed between 7 am and 8 pm. For applications outside of these hours, you will receive the result the next working day. 

To have access to the S$150 cash credit, you need to be one of the first 800 new card members with a successful online application from 1 March to 20 June 2020. Furthermore, you also need to keep a minimum of S$1,500 in the first month after your application was approved. 

You can benefit from the extra S$80 cash credit if you are one of the first 300 new card members in a calendar month, and you deposit a minimum of S$5,000 in your new account before 30 April 2020. You also need to keep these fresh funds for the entire Deposit Holding Period.
