More than 20 million Chrome users have been tricked into installing fake and malicious ad blockers, according to adblock developer AdGuard. Fake adblockers are a recurring issue, at the end of the last year we reported that 37,000 users installed fake adblock software.
Garmin has decided to withdraw all its navigation apps from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. From the 14th of May this year, the apps Navigon, Navigon Regions and Navigon Cruiser will disappear from the apps stores. Existing users can continue to use the apps for at least two years, according to Garmin on its website.
Western Digital today introduced its Ultrastar DC HC530 HDD. The disk has a capacity of 14TB and uses perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) with two-dimensional magnetic recording (TDMR) read heads. It's available in a capacity of 14GB with either a SAS or SATA interface.
Microsoft today released an extension for Google Chrome that should protect users of the browser against phishing and malicious websites. The extension is available in the Chrome Webstore under the name Windows Defender Browser Protection.
Microsoft and several other anti-malware products now classify the popular μTorrent Bittorrent client as malware or so-called Potentially Unwanted Software (PUA). The result is that installation of μTorrent is blocked on many computers.
