AllofMp3 disappears for Virgin Media Customers

Virgin Media customers have hit a problem recently especially if they are a user of the controversial AllofMp3 service. It seems the site has stopped working for customers of Virgin Media. AllofMp3 is currently one of the most popular music download sites in the UK behind Apple iTunes, though its legality has been highly disputed.

According to Virgin Media this is nothing to do with them blocking the site but some kind of technical fault and that they are investigating. The manager of the cable broadband unit stated that a team had tested this problem and it seems to be a fault, he also stated that virgin media does not block sites. While this seems to be a technical fault it doesn’t seem to have impacted any other ISPs in the UK.

Some users thought that maybe virgin media's close association with the music industry or possibly trying to save bandwidth may have been something to do with it. We will wait and see when the problem is fixed until then Virgin Media says anyone experiencing these problems should get in touch so they can track the problem down.
