Another (dumb) attempt to promote High Definition

We can see each day many attempts to bring more and more people to High Definition. The war between rival formats Blu-ray and HD DVD show us new appealing offers almost daily, but still there is no clear winner in sight. Even the most wanted solution (hybrid players/recorders) still needs to hit the market consistently.

Surfing the net today I found a news published by Panasonic, and I'm in doubt if I should have a laugh or to be seriously worried.

According to the press release, High Definition is an excellent way for families to spend more quality time together. This (totally dumb in my opinion) concept is promoted by Dr. Cindy Bunin-Nurik, Founder Of Mommy and Me Association, and states that the latest High Definition television and video technologies can enrich the American lifestyle.

What seriously worrys me is that there is also a dedicated website where people can discover "tips on how families can leverage technology to spend more quality time with each other"...

I wonder what will be the next step to promote High Definition. Maybe another "doctor" will publish a paper demonstrating how the Blu-ray movies are able to cure cancer...
