Back around mid June, Samsung became the first manufacturer to market an 18x DVD±R writer with 12x DVD-RAM write performance with the launch of the WriteMaster SH-S182D.
Today, we are proud to present the first read & write graphs for this drive with DVD+R, DVD-R and DVD-RAM media on our forum, which have been provided by our European review coordinator EMEA Jan70. The media used in these tests include MiFlop DVD+R 16x media written at 18x (TY - batch TH001333), MiFlop DVD-R 16x media also written at 18x (TY - bach GH000125) and Maxell 12x DVD-RAM media written without verification.
These tests were carried out using Nero CD-DVD speed
4.51.3 for Write, Disc Quality and Read scan graphs. The following graph
shows an 18x write speed graph for the MiFlop DVD+R 16x media:
