Here's some news from Taiwan courtesy of DigiTimes. It seems that CMC Magnetics who happens to be the top producer of discs in that area, has obtained certification for 4x DVD-R DL. They are now the first in Taiwan to have this distinction and in the world, there is only one other Japans Mitsubishi Kagaku Media or (MKM). They already have 8x certification for DVD+R DL.
Right now according to the report, only CMC and Ritek are able to produce DVD+R/-R DL discs in any sizable quantity.
