EU optical disc anti-dumping investigation may lift soon

Digitimes reports
that a Chinese news-paper has stated that an anti-dumping
investigation on DVD recordables pursued by the European Union is likely to be
discontinued now TDK has withdrawn from the market in the first quarter of
2006. The website reports that the cases concerning CD recordables continue.

A group represented by 60% of the European DVD recordable
manufacturers had called for an investigation on DVD recordables, according to
them discs imported from China have negative impact on the level of prices
charged by the  industry, resulting in substantial adverse effects on the
overall performance and the financial situation of the industry.
