Governor Schwarzenegger says asta la vista P2P on state computers

In a new executive order, California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger says "certain peer-to-peer file-sharing software on state computers presents a significant security risk" and such programs "consume network resources, which may reduce the performance of state computer systems." So in light of that, the Governor signed a new executive order today prohibiting the use of the states resources for illegal file sharing.

So many of the entertainment industry's talented musicians, actors, writers and programmers devote their careers to creating products that enrich our society. We need to do our part to protect the creative and intellectual property they work so hard to create for the rest of us." said Governor Schwarzenegger. "Today California is taking a stand against use of state resources for illegal downloading of this material and standing in support of the work of these talented Californians."

This seems to be a good measure and his argument makes sense. At least there is no need for such activity in government offices. What do you think?
