A
couple of weeks ago Iomega announced a dual format writer and
today Iomega has announced a new model which also is capable of writing DVD-RAM,
besides the DVD±R/RW formats.
The Iomega Super DVD Drive can read and record DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, CD-R, and CD-RW formats, with buffer under-run protection for more reliable recording. In addition, digital audio enthusiasts will appreciate the drive's 24x DAE (digital audio extraction) speed for ripping audio files. The |
Iomega
has not released any detailed specifications on the drive yet but I will not be
surprised if it turns out to be identical to the Hitachi-LG
GSA-4040B.
The
Iomega Super DVD burner will be released in August in the
U.S. for a
MSRP of 329 USD while the rest of us will have to wait until September
before we can buy one.
