Some Web-site's in The Netherlands still say that the PS2 will play ALL region Code DVD'S including R2-PAL but THIS IT NOT TRUE
The video signal of the Jap-PS2 is handled by hardware so without changing the onboard video card/chip, you can't play PAL on the Jap PS2 !.
R2-DVD'S PAL(Europe) will boot, but the PS2 cannot output the video. (you might be able to hear some music if you press the menu button instead of the play button but you WONT get any pictures...) (the menu button is the one on the left that is in the same row as the play button)
