Many didn't like the 'dot' between LG and Philips. For those there might be good news... The South Korean flat screen maker announced a name change that still needs approval from its shareholders and this is planned to happen on the 29th of February. LG.Philips wants to change its name to LG Display.
The name change was expected since some didn't like the current name, and LG was expected to take a leading role after stake sales by partner Philips. With the possible name change announced we can hereby expect LG to take this lead and Philips to somehow control the game behind the scenes.
