Via the SourceForge.net website we can find a new release of the Media Player Classic (MPC) software. MPC is my personal favourite when it comes to playing media files. It supports playback of both video and audio files, including DVD playback, Ogg audio, RealMedia and Quicktime video. Here is the changelog for the latest version which adds an integrated AC3 decoder:

- Integrated ac3 decoder based on liba52, mainly for dvds with different audio compression types, now it is possible to play lpcm/mpeg/ac3 audio tracks with the same filter (dts will be sent to spdif). To still use ac3filter.ax or any other external decoder you must uncheck the internal at options/filters
- Web interface: new page to control playback, gzip compression, debug info disabled by default
- Mpeg decoder: added the bob deinterlacing method
