Online subscription movie service Netflix has sealed a deal with TiVo to stream movies to TiVo HD, HD XL and Series3 digital video recorders.
Under the agreement, subscribers to both services will have access to Netflix's library of more than 12,000 movies and TV shows. The service will be free to Netflix subscribers paying at least $8.99 per month for DVD rentals.
The system is currently being tested in several thousand U.S. homes, with a wide rollout expected in early December. The move follows TiVo's recent deals with CinemaNow, Jaman and Rhapsody, while Netflix will be available on the Xbox 360 in November and on Apple Macs by the end of the year.
