PS3 feeds Sony Ericsson phone

A PSP phone it's not, but the latest Sony Ericsson handset can pull media from a Playstation 3, just like Sony's portable gaming console.

The Aino from Sony Ericsson, due this fall, uses the same "Remote Play" feature found in the PSP, PC World writes. It allows users to stream music, videos and photos from a remote Playstation 3, no matter where you are in the world. Sony Ericsson doesn't say whether this feature works over a 3G connection, or just Wi-Fi.

The Aino can also pull media from a PC using Sony Ericsson's Media Go manager. Users in Italy, Germany, France, Spain and the U.K. also have the luxury of the Playstation 3's PlayTV feature, which allows you to remotely watch recorded and live television. PlayTV isn't available in the US.

As for the phone itself, the Aino has a 3-inch touch screen, an 8.1-megapixel camera, a physical keypad and an 8 GB SD card included. Being able to stream media will take some of the pressure off that card, since there's no need to store every movie or song on the phone itself.

Meanwhile, another newly-announced Sony Ericsson phone, the Yari, is more conducive to gaming, with a built-in accelerometer. Why not put those features in the Aino? Probably because it'd be too close to a PSP phone.
