Production lines LG and Hitachi joint venture (HLDS) still intact after fire

GristyMcFisty used our news submit to tell us that Digitimes reports
that the production lines of the joint venture of LG and Hitachi (HLDS) were not
totally destroyed as we reported earlier. According to the website mainly materials were
destroyed and the PC recorder manufactuering line has remained intact.

According to LGETT, although the fire destroyed materials and
components for making DVD players and recorders, the assembly lines were
not affected. The production lines for PC-use ODDs are located in a
building that was not involved in the fire, LGETT pointed
out.

This seem to be good news as LG is rapidly becoming a more popular recorder
