GristyMcFisty reports us that last December
second-tier Taiwan DVD disc makers, Princo, Daxon Technology and Optodisc
Technology, have enjoyed record revenues. According to
DigiTimes this is due to growing demand for 4x DVD-R/RW discs.
The companies began offering 4x DVD-R/RW
discs in the second half of 2003. They plan to join top-tier disc makers
in supplying 8x DVD discs after prices of 4x DVD discs decline further and
they have adequate capacity.
