Taiwan Market: HP unveils two 16x DL LightScribe burners

This concept of using the laser from your drive to etch an image on special media is sure popular around here. So this article from over at DigiTimes, will probably be of interest. Now, this is only in Taiwan, but still we can read what they are going for over there.

On January 25, Hewlett-Packard (HP) Taiwan launched two LightScribe 16x DVD Dual DL (single-sided double-layer) burner models, the Pavilion W1268tw and the Pavilion W1266tw, in the Taiwan market, with a tentative retail price of NT$39,800 (US$1,248) and NT$31,900 (US$1,001), respectively.

All DVD burners built into HP desktop PCs will be enabled with LightScribe technology, and LightScribe-enabled HP notebook PCs will be available in the second half of this year at the earliest, according to Dennis Chen, vice president and general manager of the Personal Systems Group of HP Taiwan.

HP Taiwan is looking to gain an additional 15-20% growth in local sales volume for HP PC's in the coming year. I wonder what those PC's will cost, that feature one of these burners?
