Tattoo Media joins forces with SunnComm Technologies, Volume Production for MediaMax

KIRKLAND,
Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 10, 2003--Tattoo Media, Inc., announced today that it has joined forces with SunnComm Technologies (OTC: STEH - News) to co-develop a secure web- enabled production environment which will streamline the production and creation of visually enhanced second session user interfaces.

This web interface tool will provide the solution for the large scale production capabilities required to deploy SunnComm MediaMax(TM) copy protected audio CD's.

Tattoo Media and SunnComm will develop a web-enabled secure client environment which will allow record labels to upload standard second session user interface elements which will, in turn, automatically generate templated second session user interfaces. The system will allow record labels to manage all facets of the creative process necessary to produce large volumes of second session CD's with speed, security, and accuracy. Additionally, the final output of this authoring tool will have the necessary MediaMax copy protection elements added along with the second session user interface and prepare the image for transfer to manufacturing.

In addition to co-developing the production environment software for simple second sessions, Tattoo Media has been recognized by SunnComm Technologies, as the industry's leading provider in high end graphic user interfaces for second session experiences. Tattoo Media has worked closely with Microsoft's (Nasdaq:MSFT - News) Windows Media division over the past several years to perfect the graphic environment through which second session bonus content is delivered. With capabilities ranging from video production, flash based presentations, lyric synchronization, and easily navigable on board sites, Tattoo Media is well known for their technical prowess and high end graphic capabilities in all areas of CD/DVD and web based design, production and technology integration, as well as online marketing tools and programs.

"Tattoo Media is well versed in all areas of high-end design and production for second sessions, and we look forward to working with SunnComm to actively shift the paradigm of how people enjoy and collect music on their PC's. We'll accomplish this by raising the bar on the visual experience and making "access" to the collection of protected music a seamless and enjoyable experience for the consumer," said Kim Obbink, CEO of Tattoo Media, Inc. She continued, "We are really excited to be partnering with SunnComm as they have clearly captured the lead position in this market and proven that copy protection can be accomplished while retaining a positive consumer experience."

SunnComm Technologies CEO, Peter H. Jacobs said, "The reason SunnComm is capturing a leadership position in this market space is based on two very important facts. The first is, producing customer-driven technology that makes the grade while filling a need in the market. Second, we strive to create strong strategic partnerships with companies that bring core competencies to our organization." He added, "Tattoo Media is a very important partner for SunnComm and is helping to build the production department within our organization that can handle the large number of requests to use MediaMax. For SunnComm, it is essential that we create a content environment that allows for the secure and appropriate handling of music industry assets. Now, the production of each and every MediaMax audio CD will now be done in an efficient, productive and secure manner."

SunnComm's MediaMax Technology delivers to record companies and music buyers around the world cross-platform playability, security, and an enhanced visual and listening experience for both PC and Mac users. The technology is based on a two session CD wherein the first session is made up of uncompressed protected CD-A files and the second session is made of up of compressed WMA files embedded into a versatile multimedia user interface. This second session multimedia user interface contains a duplicate set of songs that are stored in a protected format. In addition, the second session may contain special features such as video clips, photos, artist information, song lyrics, Promo Play(TM) (song sharing capability), special web links which connect the artist with the CD buyer, etc.)
