Trio Gets 11 Years Total For Software Piracy...

Newsbytes is reporting about two men and a woman who have been sentenced to a total of 11 years in prison for their involvement in one of the UK's largest software piracy case.

The trio - Zafor Ahmed, aged 24; Sikander Quereshi, aged 55 and Shaheen Parveen, aged 42 - were sentenced this morning at Southwark Crown Court following a nine-week trial that resulted in guilty verdicts on March 16.

Ahmed of Forest Gate, London, got two and a half years in prison, while Quereshi, of Stanmore, Middlesex, got a sentence of four and a half years. Parveen, from Kingsbury, London, was sentenced to four years in prison.

If sold at normal retail prices, the Microsoft software could have generated up to $4.5 million. Well I think this is not completely true because they forget if this trio didn't sold the software, somebody else would. I don't think all their customers would buy it legal then

A month ago I also reported about man who had also two and a half years of prison in the UK.
