Virtual CD version 9.2 is now available

H+H software has announced the release of Virtual CD v9.2, which adds a number of improvements and fixes, including the issue with writing DVD-RAM and DVD+RW media with some drive & media combinations, better compatibility with the latest software and better handling of special CD formats.

From our testing, it has also changed the default DVD-RAM size from 2,295,072 sectors to 2,236,704 sectors to match that of most DVD-RAM media on the market.  The advantage here is that that one no longer needs to create a custom DVD-RAM size for it to fit on most physical DVD-RAM media currently available.

The new version also applies to the Terminal Server, Network Management Server and File server versions of Virtual CD and is available to all Virtual CD 9 customers.  Those who have Virtual CD version 7 or 8 can update for a reduced price.

The changelog is as follows:

  • Fixed: Image Wizard - Crashed if the Virtual CD Editor pre-cached music tracks
  • Fixed: Editor – Automatically-created comments for customized audio CDs were sometimes corrupted.
  • Fixed: Smart Virtual CD Burner – In some combinations (writer + media) it was not possible to write on DVD+RW and DVD-RAM media.
  • Fixed: Emulation problem solved.
  • Fixed: 'Code 1' error message is no longer shown on Virtual CD uninstall if the Quick Start program is not permitted for use.
  • Added: Setup configuration - New option added: 'Automatic update check'.
  • Fixed: Setup configuration – If this program was disabled, it was no longer possible to activate the program start function.
  • Changed: No Desktop entry is generated if the Toolbox and the CD Management are not permitted for use.
  • Changed: Language updates.
