Bug in iOS 11.1 prevents users from typing 'i'

Some iPhone and iPad users suffer from a bug that prevents them from typing the 'i' character. The on-screen keyboard automatically replaces the 'i' with an 'A' and the [?] unicode symbol. Apple has confirmed the issue.

Only some users who upgraded to iOS 11.1 are affected by the bug. Especially for users in countries where English is their main language the bug is annoying, they are unable to type 'I'.

Apple has confirmed the issue and added a page to their website with a workaround which involves setting up a text replacement.. A real fix will most likely come with a new iOS updates released by the Cupertino technology giant.
