Combination of Intel iGPU and Windows 10 update gives fullscreen video issues

Users with an integrated Intel HD Graphics 250 GPU, who are running the latest Windows 10 April 2018 Update, suffer from video issues. There is an bug that makes the screen go black when they try watch online videos in fullscreen.

It doesn't matter which browser or online video service is used, as long as the computer contains an Intel HD Graphics 520 chip and runs the Windows 10 April 2018 Update, there is a large chance the screen goes black.

The issue appears to be caused by a bug in the Intel video driver combined with the April 2018 Update. Users who suffer from the issue are advised to downgrade their Intel video card driver. Softpedia describes how to do that and provides a download of the older drivers.

Microsoft and Intel have not confirmed the issue yet, therefore it's unknown when, or if, an update will be released that fixes the issue.
