Couple gets married in Apple store

Apple enthusiasts are known for their near-religious dedication to the brand, but a recent Apple Store wedding took it to a new level.

A video on YouTube shows the marriage of Ting Li to Joshua Li in a New York Apple Store. Joshua Li confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that the wedding was real, but unauthorized by Apple. As you can see in the video, the employees don't get involved, but don't interfere either.

The couple reportedly met in an Apple Store, when Joshua initiated a conversation with Ting as she browsed for iPods. "I used to joke that the Apple Store is my church because I am not religious, and I loved everything Apple,” the groom told Entertainment Weekly. “Ting then came up with the idea of having the wedding there."

Henry Hu, a friend of the couple who runs the blog Trashy Yet Classy, presided over the ceremony, dressed in Apple chief executive Steve Jobs' iconic jeans and black turtleneck. He quoted Steve Jobs, evidently from the CEO's 2005 commencement address to Stanford University: "You have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down."

Nerd weddings rule. Just the other week, I was reading Kotaku's follow-up on the Halo-themed wedding that took place in January 2009 (in short, the couple's still happy and excited for Halo: Reach). There was also a Katamari Damacy wedding. Yet, I can't find evidence of a Windows-themed ceremony anywhere. I guess as far as destination weddings go, the Microsoft Store in Arizona isn't a hot spot.
