Youtube today announced the first videos that can only be viewed by Youtube Red subscribers. The videos are part of Youtube Red Originals and the first ones are produced by famous Youtubers such as Lilly Singh, Rooster Teeth, PewDiePie and AwesomenessTV. The video platform also announced that more Youtube Red Originals will come later this year.
With a Youtube Red subscription of $9.99 a month, users get access to this exclusive content. Youtube Red subscribers can save video offline, don't see ads, can play videos in the background and have full access to Google Play Music. For now Youtube Red is only available in the United States.
In many other countries it's possible to pay for each video separately. Viewing a single video from the Netherlands would costs us € 9.99 ($11.25), not a fair deal compared to a Red subscription at $9.99 a month.
