The botnet performs DDOS attacks on websites and is able of sending up 150 Gigabit per second to the attacked servers. The researchers call the botnet 'Xor DDOS'. So far Xor DDOS has mainly attacked educational and gaming websites and 90% of them took place in Asia.

It's unclear whether the botnet owners are planning to attack Western websites.

DDOS attacks of such a large botnet are hard to stop because the attacking computers spoof the IP address of its victim. Xor DDOS is installed on Linux computer by cracking weak passwords.
