Got $3,500 for a Blu-ray player?

Forget the $100 Blu-ray player -- Lexicon's going all-out with its BD-30, potentially the first player to be THX-certified.

Due in September, the BD-30 is priced at $3,499 and aimed at both professionals and high-end consumers, CE Pro reports. It will reportedly feature loading times of less than 5 seconds and will support Anchor Bay's VRS Technology, which scales, de-interlaces and provides other enhancements to the picture.

The main attraction of the BD-30, however, appears to be audio. THX is a sound reproduction standard that ensures movie theaters and home set-ups are accurately recreating the intended audio experience, and this player will reportedly be the first Blu-ray player certified by the standard.

When combined with Lexicon's MC-12 music and cinema processor, you've got a powerful 7.1 surround setup that, while costing close to $15,000, would be pretty awesome.

Believe it or not, there are more expensive Blu-ray players out there, as CE Pro points out. Denon's DVD-A1HDCI costs $4,500 and Marantz's UD9004, coming soon, will sell for $6,000.

This is the part of the article where I normally add in some clever commentary or insight, but there's very little I can say here. Furnishing my living room with the BD-30 and all the other necessary components would without a doubt require the entirety of my yearly earnings, so until I hit the Lotto, consider me speechless.
