The lowest capacity iPhone 7 will have a storage capacity of 32GB instead of the criticized 16GB which is normally in entry-level iPhones. This means the 16GB iPhone will disappear, according to The Wall Street Journal. The new iPhone is expected to be released at the end of this year.
Previously the 16GB iPhones were heavily criticized because only 10-12GB was left for user storage. Apple also didn't offer a 32GB model, but users who wanted slightly more storage than the 16GB, could only opt for a 64GB model which was about $100 more expensive.
Besides the 16GB and 64GB models, there are also 128GB iPhones. According to rumors Apple will also release an iPhone 7 with 256GB storage.
