Kingston introduces SSDNow E50 budget enterprise SSDs

Kingston revealed new enterprise SSDs today, the SSDNow E50 series. This line of solid state disks is targeted below the Kingston SSDNow E100 series and suitable for  enterprise users that do not require heavy endurance but look for increased performance at an affordable price.

The E50 drives will become available in capacities of 100 GB, 240 GB and 480 GB. All drives are 7 mm in height and come in the 2.5" form-factor.

The SSDs contain MLC Sync NAND combined with a SandForce SF2581 controller and connect to the computer using the SATA-3 interface. The specified sequential read and write speeds of the 100 GB and 240 GB drives are respectively 550 and 530 MB/s. The 480 GB drive is slightly slower with a specified read speed of 530 MB/s and write speed of 500 MB/s. The drives also support 128 bit AES encryption.
