Last day for a free upgrade to Windows 10

This is just a short reminder that today, July 29th, is the last day you can upgrade to Windows 10 for free.  If you've been putting it off, and have been on the fence, its time to use it or lose it gentlemen.  My advice, if you don't want to jump in with both feet into the new operating system is to make a backup of your existing system with cloning software, like Acronis, then check to make sure this newly made image of your operating system disk is valid.  The image must be saved on a different disk than your C: drive.  Then upgrade to Windows 10.

This will insure your ability to go back to Windows 7 or 8/8.1 if you decide you prefer the earlier operating system.  Yes, I'm aware that Windows 10 will allow you to roll back for thirty days, but the image is another layer of safety, and a more permanent method to return to your previous setup.

For those of you already using Windows 10, buckle up and prepare for a new version.  The Anniversary Edition will start heading your way on August 2nd.  I suggest making a backup prior to this event also, for the last major upgrade back in November of 2015 was a rough ride for many of us.

Keep your heads down and your helmets on people.  Isn't being a Windows user fun?
