This week, the developer of MakeMKV released two new versions of its video conversion software, that can also be used to rip Ultra HD Blu-ray movies. Version 1.14.0 was released last Monday and introduces a new video processing engine. Version 1.14.1 was released today and appears to fix some bugs that were introduced with Monday's release.
For those who don't know MakeMKV, the software is a one-click solution to rip and convert DVD, Blu-ray and Ultra HD Blu-ray discs. The developer of MakeMKV is also behind the so-called 'hashed keys', which are AACS 2.0 keys that make it possible to make backups of Ultra HD Blu-ray movies.
This week's release adds support for discs protected by the AACS v66 copy protection, and introduces a new video processing engine. Here are the changelogs of both versions that were released this week:

- MakeMKV could crash during non-decrypted full disc backup
- Some discs caused extensive reads and very slow operation at the start of MKV file creation

- MKV creation failed for BDAV discs authored in a certain way
- Transcoding to AC3 displayed incorrectly with custom conversion profiles

- MakeMKV could hang at the very end of MKV file creation in some rare cases
- Linux: Fixed complilation errors with ffmpeg 4
- Expert mode features:
- Default output file name can be customized using template
- VC1 video can be saved as raw elementary stream, without FOURCC AVI encapsulation
- Obsolete features:
- Removed UPNP streaming (Use VLC or Kodi with libmmbd instead)
- Linux: Removed mmdtsdec/libdcadec (Use latest ffmpeg instead)
