Microsoft has developed a solution that should make it easier and more convenient for Windows 10 users to purchase products and services online. It allows online retailers to access data from Microsoft accounts, so customers no longer have to manually fill in shipping and payment information.
The solution comes as a programming interface (API) for Microsoft's Edge browser and online retailers only gain access to data after customers give permission.
"The wallet can provide a faster and more consistent experience across websites, which saves shoppers time and effort by allowing them to securely share saved payment information," according Microsoft's Andy Pavia on Microsoft's blog.
The new API will be introduced with the Windows 10 Creators Update that is scheduled for next year.
