Microsoft announces cheaper Surface Book

Microsoft today added a new model to the line-up of Surface Books that should close the gap between the cheapest and most expensive device. The new device has an integrated Nvidia video card, like the top model but has less storage capacity and is a bit cheaper than the only other model that has a Nvidia card.

The new cheaper model has a MSRP of $1699 and should make the gap between the cheapest and top model a little less big.  The recently announced Surface Book has a MSRP of $1499 without a Nvidia video card and the model with an integrated Nvidia videocard was much more expensive with a MSRP of $1899.

When you have $1699 to spend, you can now choose either a Surface Book with Nvidia GPU and less storage space, or a 256GB SSD without the Nvidia GPU.

Besides the storage capacity and GPU, the rest of the specifications of  are the same, the Surface Books are powered by a Core i5 CPU and 8GB RAM and have a 13.5" touchscreen.

Users that want an even more expensive Surface Book can also get one with a Core i7 CPU, 16GB RAM and 1 TB storage. This device is sold at $3199 and comes available in January 2016.
