Microsoft announces high-end Surface Studio all-in-one PC and Surface Dial

Microsoft today announced its already rumored all-in-one PC, the Surface Studio. The device has a 28" Pixelsense touch screen that is only 12.5mm thick and can be tilted to e.g. draw on it like a tablet. Microsoft also announced a new input method, the Surface Dial.

The Surface Studio comes in three versions. The most expensive one is powered by an Intel Core i7 CPU and a Nvidia GTX 980 graphics card. It has 32GB DDR4 RAM, a built-in microphone, HD-webcam and comes with a 2TB SSHD. The cheapest version contains an Core i5 has 8GB of RAM and a GTX 965M video card. The cheapest Surface Studio has a MSRP of $2999, the most expensive one has a MSRP of $4199.

Together with the Surface Studio, Microsoft also announced the Surface Dial. This isn't only intended for the Surface Studio, but can also be used with other devices. The Dial is a new input method, by rotating the round disk several actions can be performed. It can be used to e.g. adjust music volume, scrolling through websites, skipping video or zooming.

It is made of magnesium, has a diameter of 59mm and height of 30mm, connects to the computer using Bluetooth LE and is powered by two AAA Alkaline batteries. The Surface Dial has a MSRP of $99.
