Microsoft enables advertising in Windows 10 again - without user consent

Microsoft has started to show advertisements in Windows 10 again. Users who previously disabled the option will have to disable it again as Microsoft automatically enabled 'Get tips, trick and suggestions when you use Windows' again.

Several users reported that they started to see popups again when using Windows 10. Microsoft advertises Edge in the pop ups and promotes Microsoft Rewards, the successor to the no longer existing Bing Rewards.

Users that frequently use Microsoft's Edge browser likely don't see the pop ups, PCWorld writes.

It's unknown whether the automatically enabling of the 'Get tips, trick and suggestions when you use Windows' setting also brings back advertisements on the Windows 10 lockscreen.
