Microsoft introduces even more aggressive Windows 10 upgrade nagging

Microsoft today introduced another way to aggressively try to convince Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users to install Windows 10. The company also makes it harder for users to find a way to reject updating to its latest operating system.

Infoworld has posted a screenshot of a new dialog where Microsoft offers the option to update to Windows 10. The dialog resembles the look and feel of Windows Update and offers the option to 'Upgrade now' or 'Upgrade tonight'.

The dialog shows reasons to upgrade and tries to convince the user it's safe but it has no option to reject the update. Tech savvy users simply click the red cross on the top right, but regular users might not know that's possible.

Microsoft hopes that it will have 1 billion Windows 10 users soon. Besides making the upgrade free in the first year for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users, the company also starts to aggressively promote the new Windows version. Eventually Windows 10 will become a recommended update for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users after which it's automatically installed like any other update to Windows.
