Microsoft launches Skype Insider Program

Microsoft will start a beta testing program for Skype, similar to its Windows Insider program. Users can subscribe to the Skype Insider Program to get early access to updates, to provide Skype developers with feedback and to submit suggestions.

By involving more users Microsoft hopes it can improve Skype in both ease of use and reliability. Those who are interested in joining the Skype Insider Program can fill out a registration form. Users who join the program are not allowed to disclose anything about the Skype pre-releases before it becomes public. Confidentiality also has to be kept for 5 years after the program ends or when the user leaves the program.

Insiders get early access to Skype software and services updates and improvements, will be able to give early feedback and can help Microsoft to catch any bugs before public release. Microsoft also hopes participants will submit suggestions for future development. Skype Insiders also get access to a private forum on the Skype Community to connect with developers.

The Skype Insider program joins Microsoft's other Insider programs for Windows, Office and Xbox.
