Microsoft releases first cumulative update for windows 10

Microsoft has started to distribute the first cumulative update for Windows 10 that should fix non-security related issues. It's unknown what the update, also known as KB3081424, actually fixes.

Microsoft only states about the update that it,  "includes improvements to enhance the functionality of Windows 10."

When we look at the dates of files (XLS file) that are included in the update, then we can see that Microsoft has mainly added new files for Cortana on the 2nd of August. On the 30th of July, one day after the official release of Windows 10, Microsoft updated a large bunch of files. There are so many files it's unclear if it fixes specific elements of the operating system.

Because the Windows 10 are cumulative, each update also contains all previously released fixes.  When previous updates are already installed, only the new fixes that are contained in this package will be downloaded and installed to your computer.
