Microsoft will announce the Surface Pro 4 during the BUILD conference held at the end of this month, according to sources of the Taiwanese website Digitimes. It was expected the recently announced Surface 3 would be the highlight of the BUILD conference but it seems Microsoft will take the opportunity to announce the next member of its Surface Pro family, the Surface Pro 4.
The Surface 3 is a cheap tablet running Windows 8.1 mainly targeted at students and mobile workers, the Surface Pro devices are more high end. Unfortunately not much information is known about the Surface Pro 4. All Digitimes reports is that it's expected to go in mass production in June this year and will become available together with the release of Windows 10.
Sales of both the Surface Pro 3 and the new Surface Pro 4 should increase sales of the Surface tablets in 2015 considerably, according to Digitimes. It's expected Microsoft will sell about 15 million Surface devices this year, which would be an increase of 30% compared to 2014.
