Mozilla to release Send app for Android to send files in safe, private way

Mozilla will soon release an Android app to send files through a safe, private, and encrypted link that automatically expires. While Mozilla announced the app, it's for now unknown when Mozilla plans to actually release it.

Send will soon be released as an Android app, Mozilla writes on a blog post announcing the end of its test program Test Pilot. Besides Send, Mozilla will also release LockBox as an Android app, which is a password manager with Firefox Account integration. LockBox is currently already available as an iOS app.

While Mozilla hints on a quick release of both apps, it's unknown when exactly. Send is already available as a website which can be used on all platforms.

The Test Pilot Program, which allowed Mozilla to experiment with all kinds of new features, services and software, will come to an end next week. Mozilla is working on a new way of allowing users to test new, experimental, stuff.
