Netflix reports a total of 65 million subscribers worldwide. At the same time last year the streaming service reported around 50 million subscribers. In the past quarter Netflix gained 3.3 million new customers.

The numbers come from the quarterly report which the American video streaming service has put online. The company reports 42 million Netflix subscribers in the United States and 32 million in the rest of the world.
In the last quarter the company had a turnover of $1.64 billion, $300 million more than in the same quarter last year. The company reports a profit of $26.3 million, which is much lower than last year. The causes are likely the stronger dollar and the purchase and production of new content.
