New Google Safe Browsing website allows users to report phising sites and malware

Google has launched a new Safe Browsing website where users can easily report phishing sites and malware. Safe Browsing is a Google technology that, according to Google, keeps more than 2 billion devices safe everyday.

Safe Browsing launched in 2007 to protect internet users from phishing attacks. The last years it has evolved to give users tools to help protect against web-based threats like malware, unwanted software, and social engineering attacks across desktop and mobile platforms. When users try to visit a malicious website it is blocked and Safe Browsing shows a warning. If users want to visit the site nevertheless, they can with some extra clicks.

Besides Google's Chrome browser, also Mozilla's Firefox and Apple's Safari make use of the technology and Google also provides methods for other developers to integrate Safe Browsing in their products.

The latest Safe Browsing website makes it easier for users to report malcious websites. Malware can be reported here, phishing sites can be reported here. The site also provides access to information for developers and lists Google's policies for malware, unwanted software and social engineering
