Oops: Microsoft accidentally reveals plans for Edge browser extensions

Microsoft might no sooner than next year add support for extensions to its Edge browser. The default Windows 10 browser should have had Chrome compatible extensions since its release in May this year. For some reason they are now, 7 months later, still not part of Edge.

However Microsoft appears to be planning them for early 2016, as Twitter's resident Microsoft watcher h0x0d discovered. He found a page on the Microsoft website that wasn't ready to become publically available. Microsoft deleted the page, but it's still available in Google's cache.

The page lists both a Reddit and Pinterest extension. Because the extensions are likely compatible with Google's Chrome browser, Edge will likely support loads of extensions because developers can simply convert their Chrome extensions to an Edge extension.

Although Edge is considered by many as an improvement over it's predecessor Internet Explorer, it's market share is still relative small.
