Samsung Introduces Instinct HD smartphone

Samsung recently introduced the Instinct HD smartphone that will be available exclusively on the Sprint-Nextel network for $250 with a two-year service agreement.

The phone has numerous upgrades designed to please owners, including HD video-out, 5-megapixel camera, and built-in Wi-Fi capability.  Similar to the Instinct S30, the Instinct HD has 4.6 x 2.3 x 05. in. dimensions, though the HD has rounder corners and a sleek looking shiny black encasing.

The ability to easily view content on an HDTV using the HDTV-out connection is something unavailable for virtually all other phones.  Most phones require owners to save the content on an SD card, then plug the SD into a TV.

The phone also has a full QWERTY keyboard, Opera Mobile 9.7, Bluetooth, and connects to the Sprint 3G EV-D Rev. A network.  It also has a 3.2-inch touchscreen that features three touch-sensitive buttons located underneath the display.

The phone may cost around $75 more than the HTC Hero smartphone, which is powered by Google Android, but features more appealing features and overall functionality.  In addition, the Palm Pre smartphone also is available with a cheaper price tag than the Instinct HD.

The Samsung Instinct HD will officially go on sale on Sunday, Sept. 27.

Even though Sprint continues to lose thousands of subscribers who are fleeing to AT&T and Verizon Wireless, the company continues to offer phones such as the Instinct HD, HTC Hero, Palm Pre, and other similar smartphones.

Are you interested in the Samsung Instinct HD, or is the cheaper HTC Hero Google Android phone more appealing?
