Statement from DVD-Ranger after being banned from Myce

DVD-Ranger today issued an official statement responding to the fact that he has been banned from Myce.wiki. The software developer received a lifelong ban two days ago for repeatedly misbehavior and after a lot of communication with him. Frequent readers of Myce will likely have seen threads discussing DVD-Ranger CinEx going bad so an explanation of exact fact is likely needless.

DVD-Ranger is the developer of software that is able to remove the Cinavia audio watermark from Blu-ray movies, allowing to make backups of them. His software has received a lot of criticism but is so far the only software that allows users to end up with a Cinavia free copy of their Blu-ray movie.

After DVD-Ranger was banned yesterday, we posted a statement on our forums to explain to our members why we made our decision. You can read the entire statement from us here. Today we received an email from DVD-Ranger with a statement on his ban and we think it's nothing but fair to give him the last word.

Unedited statement from DVD-Ranger

Some people get noticed that the main developer get banned on the myce.wiki forum. This was a result of many issues against the CinEx HD software. The myce.wiki owner wrote that this was happen in case offense against other users but the ban was finaly done in case of a private communication between two “friends”. Amazing isn’t it.

However, fact is, CinEx HD is the only Cinavia removing solution in the world. DVDFab or their new money melking company TDMore do not allow to remove Cinavia. DVDFab ask you now to pay again for something you allready own but do not support newest protections like Cinavia. This in a world where every new Blu-ray player and all game console systems are forced to add Cinavia to their hadware. Also the software player are forced. But DVDFab/TDMore prefer an official statement, that the users are too stupid because they purchased a Cinavia player. Very interresting issue in case of the new 4K technology and all the new game console systems like PS4 and Xbox.

DVD-Ranger CinEx HD is the second generation of Cinavia removing. The first generation, called CinEx, was published as open source on sourceforge.net. Also DVD-Ranger published their old software “DVDneXtcopy” as a free and open source software.

So some companies bring innovation some companies just melk your money. The bad story is, myce.wiki is supporting this bad companies. They also support slandering, lies and to distribute wrong inofrmation. They have an army of posters that post on dozen of forum websites the same lies and slandering to bring their advertisers in a better view. On their own website they censorship critical issue and close threads or move threads to somewhere else to protect their advertisers. Business slandering is only stopped after hiring a lawyer.

So what is next? We have now published most movies that have Cinavia on DVD and Blu-ray. The myce.wiki members wanted this proof but never accepted the proof. Today we will release the database for Neighbors, the newest DVD/BD Cinavia pack. Our development team also will release today the first version of the CinEx HD SoundTouch (Beta) version. This is a virual obscene gesture for our friends on myce.wiki

Although his statement is very unfriendly to us (at least) we will not stop reporting about this software. As stated before, it works and our mission is to provide our readers relevant and objective information. A bad relationship with a company or individual should not introduce a bias into the working of the product and we try to live by that rule.

We do hope everyone does understand our decision and in case you now fear being banned, we don't take long life bans lightly. If you're not a spammer or new here with obvious bad intentions, then you never have to fear we will ban you (forever) without giving clear warnings. We will first try to warn and/or sinbin (temporarily ban) and if things then still don't change a ban is really the ultimate decision we make.
