DVDFab lost their domain and social media pages due to an injunction from a New York court. Blu-ray copy protection licensee AACS-LA sued DVDFab and can use the injunction to send out orders to companies to cease working with DVDFab. The injunction pretty much covers everyone who provides services to DVDFab, including to banks, payment processors and also social media services.

Previously DVDFab lost their social media pages due to the injunction. On Twitter the company had 59,000 followers,on their Facebook page they had 19,000 Likes.

The legal battle between DVDFab and the AACS-LA continues. DVDFab has ceased selling their software to citizens of the United States and argues that the US copyright laws should not be applied to a Chinese company. The company also sells software that does not circumvent any intellectual property of the AACS-LA and therefore DVDFab argues it should even be able to sell that world-wide.

The outcome of  case will be interesting as it will answer how far the influence of United States copyright laws reach. Therefore the outcome might also have its effects on other foreign developers of DVD and Blu-ray backup software.
