Toshiba announces budget HD camcorder

If you are looking for a camcorder right now, then you probably want a High Definition capable one. However the pricing of such devices could limit your options. Toshiba saw this problem and has introduced an affordable HD camcorder in its Camileo model line.

The Camileo H10 camcorder can shoot footage up to 1280x720p and can store it on an SD and SDHC card with the maximum capacity of 8GB (and you'll have 64MB on its internal memory). It weighs 340grams, has a single CCD, 5x optical and 4x digital zoom, motion detection and special effects.

You can watch what you shoot on its flip-out 2.7" TFT screen and if you want to watch your video on an HDTV then you can connect your camcorder to it, using the HDMI output.

The video is encoded in H.264/MPEG-4 and according to Toshiba you can store up to 4 hours of high quality film on an 8GB card.

All this should cost you about $360 and should be available in the UK first at the end of the month.
