Toshiba today announced the launch of its entry level OCZ TL100 series SATA SSDs. The drives will be available in capacities of 120GB and 240GB and come with Toshiba's 3 year Advanced Warranty.
Toshiba uses its TLC NAND in the TL100 series and lists endurance of up to 60 TBW (Total Bytes Written) for the 240GB drive and 30 TBW for the 120GB drive. The TL100 series is rated for sequential read/write speeds of up to 550 MB/s and 530 MB/s, and random read/write performance of up to 85,000 and 80,000 IOPS.
The 2.5" drive has a typical power consumption of 1.6W when active and 440 mW when idle.
The drives with model numbers TL100-25SAT3-120G and TL100-25SAT3-240G are not available yet and Toshiba hasn't disclosed any pricing information. However a Dutch retailer lists the 120GB model at €55.88 ($62.56) and the 240GB model at €86.35 ($96.66) which might be an indication.
