Video shows Windows 9 Start Menu in action - Metro is here to stay

A video appeared online showing someone demonstrating the Start menu of Windows 9. The video comes from the same source as yesterday and shows how users can change the Live Tiles in the Start menu but can also opt to use no tiles and continue to use the Windows 8 Start Screen.

The video has been posted by the German site Winfuture and shows the same build of which the site posted screenshots yesterday. The video clearly shows the version demonstrated in a Technical Preview of the next version of Windows.

In the video it's demonstrated how the user adds and removes Live Tiles from the Start Menu but it also shows an option to use the tiles in either the (Metro) Start Screen or the Start Menu. The video also reveals that Metro applications now behave like regular Windows application with their own taskbar and no longer have to run full screen or split screen.

It's expected that Microsoft will release Windows 9 at the end of this month or the beginning of next month and that it will be officially released in the first quarter of 2015.
