Microsoft has announced that Windows 10 for the Xbox One will be released on the 12th of November this year. Windows 10 on the Xbox One makes it possible to stream games on the desktop and makes the console backwards compatible.
Last year Microsoft announced Windows 10 would be the operating system for all devices of the company. Besides desktops, the OS also becomes available for smartphones and now also for Microsoft's console.
Windows 10 on the Xbox One makes it possible for developers to release universal app but also to synchronize the OS with other devices. E.g. it's now already possible to use the Xbox app on the desktop to add friends or play together.
With the launch, the possibility to play hundreds of Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One becomes possible, more games are expected to follow. Windows 10 on the Xbox One will not feature Microsoft's personal assistant yet, the company plans to add that in 2016.
